University of Hartford Announces Limited Fan Attendance

While the spring sports season is well underway, the games do feel a bit different. Yes, the teams are out of the fields representing our school, but there are no fans in the stands, something athletes love and feed off of. Well, the long wait is finally over.

In accordance with the America East Policy and CDC, State of Connecticut and local guidelines, The University of Hartford Department of Athletics announced that they will be allowing limited guest attendance to the regular season, on-campus sporting events starting on April 2nd, 2021.

Each sporting event will be limited to student spectators and guests of the Hartford student-athletes and coaching staff. Any off-campus guests will have to be submitted before the game through a team pass list for approval. In addition to the guest approval list, there will be no game-day walk-ups accepted to any event.

Opposing team guests and the general public will not be permitted to attend Hartford athletics events at this time and tailgating is also prohibited at all venues and events.

The total number of Student Spectators and Guest Spectators will go as follows:

  • Fiondella Field (baseball):
    • A maximum of 80 Guest Spectators shall be permitted in the bleachers
    • A maximum of 50 Student Spectators shall be permitted in the general standing room sections, located along the first and third baselines.
  • Hartford Softball Field (softball):
    • A maximum of 60 Guest Spectators shall be permitted in the bleachers
    • A maximum of 25 Student Spectators shall be permitted in the general standing room sections, located along the first and third baselines.
  • Al-Marzook Field (men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer):
    • A maximum of 130 Guest Spectators shall be permitted in the bleachers
    • A maximum of 65 Student Spectators shall be permitted in the general standing room section, located on the opposite side of the bleachers
    • A maximum of 20 Student Spectators shall be permitted in the general standing room section located in a designated area on the side of the bleachers.
