Senior John Thrasher of the Hartford Baseball team received America East Player of the Week honors. This marks this first time in his career that he has received this honor. Thrasher earned the honors by batting .571 (8-for-14), tallying nine runs scored, five home runs, eight RBIs, and six stolen bases in a four game weekend series against UMBC this past weekend.

The Ridgefield, Connecticut native leads the America East in batting average (.439), slugging percentage (.895), on-base percentage (.500), and stolen bases (19). His 51 career stolen bases rank him second, only behind Aaron Leonard’s (‘94) 58 stolen bases, in the program record books. Thrasher became the second Hawk to earn weekly honors from the America East, joining graduate student Nathan Florence, who received America East Pitcher of the Week on March 22 and 29.

Thrasher looks to lead the Hawks this weeked as the team travels up to Maine to take on the Blackbears in a pair of double header games on Saturday and Sunday.
