Male Athlete of the Week: Matthew Schwab

Senior Matthew Schwab posted his fifth top-10 finish of the season, as he tied for seventh to pace the Hawks at the two-day event, which was held at Bethpage Golf Course – Red Course in Farmingdale, N.Y. Schwab’s performance helped the Hawks secure a second-place showing. This marks the fourth time this season that Hartford has taken home a top-two finishing spot.

Before coming to Hartford, the Chandler, Arizona native was a four-year member of the Seton Catholic Preparatory High School golf team. In 2017, Schwab scored himself a runner-up finish in Arizona DII State Championship. Continuing his 2017 accomplishments, Schwab was named Seton Catholic Prep’s Outstanding Male Student-Athlete. In the year prior, He qualified for the IMG World Championship and was a Hogan Cup player for Arizona in 2016.

In his time at Hartford, Schwab has been a leader for the golf team, posting incredible individual and team statistics. He has solidified his name in the program for years to come.
