Konover Hours

Konover Hours

Maddie Gill, Managing Editor

Maybe there is a lack of student workers or the school simply doesn’t want Konover open during the day or late into the night, but whatever the reason, I think a lot of students would appreciate it if the hours were adjusted.

Just like Moe’s at GSU, Subway is another restaurant chain that students love having on campus. So, why is Moe’s open for lunch and Subway isn’t? The convenience store offers a lot of essentials for students living in the upperclassmen housing with kitchens. Konover essentially doubles as a grocery store so it would be beneficial to have the access. Not to say that 2 p.m. is late, but I would think opening earlier would benefit students and staff by offering even more food options beyond Commons and GSU.

I recently found out that a petition regarding GSU’s hours is also going around. The same attention that the petition is getting, should also be shown towards changing Konover hours. If Konover doesn’t open earlier than 2 p.m., then it should stay open past 2 a.m. Because GSU closes shortly after lunch, and Commons closes at 9pm. Therefor, the food options are limited for us night owls.
