Hartt Composers’ Seminar hosted two presentations last Wednesday, March 2nd, in the Bliss Fuller Music Center. The session opened with an overview led by Wen Wen Der Wende, a composer and vocalist studying at the University of Hartford. The second half of the session was a workshare on the choral music of composer and Hartt alumni Andrey Stolyarov, whose music you can learn about here: http://andreystolyarov.com

All members of the University of Hartford and Hartt school were invited. If you missed out, put the next events in your calendar! Wen Wen Der Wende will also be hosting the Open Source: Queer-Coded, an LBGTQ+ Concert occurring on March 27th at 8 pm in the Berkman Recital Hall in the Fuller Music Center.

Also happening this Spring, English & Modern Languages poets collaborated with the Hartt students. Composers are setting poems to music to make them into songs. Poems were chosen anonymously, and there will be a live public performance of the songs involving musicians and singers. The event will be on April 12th at 7:30 pm in Wilde Auditorium. After the performance, the poets will participate in a Q&A with composers.
