On Thursday, the Hartford Hawks Women’s Volleyball team traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts, to take on the AIC Yellow Jackets. The Hawks could not pull off the victory, as they were defeated in four sets.

AIC took the first set by a score of 26-15, and Harford followed that set by 27-25; AIC then took the following two groups by a score of 25-15 and 25-19. However, Junior outside hitter Uzezi Ijoma led the team with 13 kills. She produced a .600 hitting percentage during the match, as she was on top of her game despite the outcome. Sara Gasparotto was another bright star for the Hawks in the game, providing four digs, two assists, and severed up an ace. Gasparotto and Ijoma could also team up with a block during the game to give a point to the Hawks.

Senior Lika Nkenchor was on fire, producing 16 of Hartford’s 32 assists throughout the night. She was also able to make four kills and four digs. Finally, senior outside hitter Greta De Gasper notched nine kills throughout the match. The Hawks return home for their final three games of the season, with the first match set for Wednesday night as they battle the Bryant Bulldogs.
