The Hartt Theatre Division is putting on a performance called She Loves Me, a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock. It is a euphoric romantic comedy with a soaring score. Amalia and Georg work together at a modest Perfumerie but have disliked each other from the very beginning. He thinks she’s stuck up, while she thinks he’s arrogant and extremely rude. Each rapturously writes to a lonely-hearts pen pal when the workday is done, and it doesn’t take long for the audience to see that they’re in love without realizing it. Inevitably through some of the most iconic songs in the musical theatre canon (“Vanilla Ice Cream”, “She Loves Me”, “Will He Like Me?”), Georg and Amalia discover the truth and rejoice in their love for each other at the story’s sweet, musically delightful conclusion. The show is directed by the multi-talented Janelle Robinson.

The performance will be held in Roberts Theater at 7:30 p.m. every night through November 15- 18. Audience members are advised to arrive 10 minutes prior to curtain time due to the intimacy of the performance space. Access may be denied after the start of the show and masks must be worn in University venues.

The performance is free but tickets are required: https://app.artspeople.com/index.php?show=144053.
