Decorate That Grad Cap!

Decorate That Grad Cap!

Maddie Gill, Managing Editor

In high school, I think decorating your cap for graduation strictly became a “girl thing” and I don’t see why. It excluded boys from the fun experience of celebrating their achievements in a creative way. Of course, in high school, the grad cap decor was much simpler. You merely slapped the logo of the college that you would be attending on top of your head. Now, as a senior once again and graduation looming over me, I have put a lot of thought into how I want to decorate my cap. As a film major, one of my greatest joys comes from being on a set. As the saying goes, “If you’re doing what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”. As cheesy as that sounds, I truly believe it. For my cap, I am replicating the look of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with my name on it. I’m manifesting every day! With the help of Pinterest (and a former employee discount from Michael’s craft store) I’ve perfected my vision. Now, that’s not to say someone can’t decorate their cap with less effort and have it not turn out just as good – or decorate it at all for that matter! But it definitely is a fun way to visually represent yourself on the big day.
