For our fourth episode, we celebrated Mardi Gras with some classic Cajun and Creole inspired dishes. I enjoyed a heaping helping of chicken andouille with a fried shrimp po’boy on the side. The andouille was a solid 7. It was warm, comforting, and reminiscent of homestyle cooking. The shrimp po’boy was nothing extravagant, but everything a good sandwich should be. I gave that a 6. I gave both items a Smack. To finish my meal, I enjoyed a bananas foster cupcake from the bakery, which frankly, was the biggest smack of them all. It was an easy 8.5. The andouille got a slightly less glowing review from the diners we interviewed, but the shrimp po’boy reviews were fairly aligned with mine. We only got one dessert review, but it was a good one. Overall, there were many more Smacks than Wacks.
