On October 25th, WSAM student radio hosted a concert, Live from The Crypt, in the Konover Great Room. WSAM radio is the University of Hartford’s only student run radio station where they play alternative groove music. They put on a slew of different events throughout the year such as Battle of the Bands, Live from the Lawn, Jazz Night and Hawk’s Nest Grand Slam.
Live from the Crypt is their annual Halloween performance; the Konover Great Room was decorated for Halloween with low lighting, cobwebs, and spooky colors. The bands that performed included House of Harm, Gossip Collar, Showgirl, Symposia, and Norfork, with tables selling band merch lining the perimeter of the room. Each band had their own unique sound and style which the audience loved, cheering them all on.
About 30 students attended, filling up the Great Room nicely. WSAM Student Radio also hosted a costume contest to encourage people to get in the Halloween spirit and dress up. Many of the attendees came in costumes and contributed to the spooky vibes. The event lasted for just about three hours, really feeling like a concert experience but for free! They have G-Board meetings every other Tuesday for anyone interested in joining their club.
