This past Saturday, Jan. 26, the University of Hartford’s men’s basketball team traveled to play against UAlbany, NY. Sadly for the Hawks, Albany was able to take the win, concluding the game with a score of 84-77. The result of this game could be felt from the very start, as Albany began outscoring the Hawks within the first few minutes of the game. The Great Danes continued their lead until the break, which started as they led with a comfortable 49-35 score. The second half proved to be like the first, as the Great Danes kept scoring on Hartford until the Hawks began to rally back. In part to a three-pointer by Travis Washington, the Hawks were able to come within a few points of UAlbany, with there being a score of 75-72. At this point in the game, although there was only 3:50 left on the clock, the Great Danes were able to capitalize, as two of their players each scored three-pointers to push their lead back up. The Hawks were able to make some progress with this game, however. Five of the Hawks put up double-digits for the first time since last season, in December. The Hawks will be home during their next game against Binghamton on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m.
