The games leading scorer Awobajo had 18 of 24 total points in the first half alone. The Hawks overall shot 17-38 from the floor and 6-12 beyond the arc. This win for the Hawks is quite the impressive showing as this is their first victory of 40 or more points in nine years, dating back to when they beat UMBC (85-45). Albany had 38 total turnovers resulting in 37 points for the Hawks. Senior Lindsey Abed recorded six steals making it now back to back games where she had five or more, she’s average 3.6 steals in conference games. A milestone in which this game made happen was Kim McNeill became the fastest coach in Hartford’s Division 1 history to record 50 wins. 23 of those 50 wins coming from opponents faced in the American East. In addition, this win keeps the Hawks eight, now nine game winning streak alive and well. The 11 points put up by UAlbany is the fewest any opponent has scored against the Hawks this year. Their next match is against Binghamton on Jan. 30. The Hawks are looking very good and hope to continue their winning streak to 10 games. Tune in on ESPN 3 on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
